Indian Cooking Recipe: Kalan
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Kalan
Ingredients:
1. 3 cups thick butter milk
2. 2 cups yam and raw bananas, cut into thin slices
3. 1 tsp turmeric powder
4. 1 tsp fenugreek seeds(methi), powdered
5. 1 tsp black pepper powder
6. 1/2 cup grated coconut, ground with chillies
7. 2 green chillies
8. Salt to taste
9. 1 tbsp coconut oil
10. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
11. Few curry leaves
Method of Preparation:
Cook yam and bananas in buttermilk with turmeric powder till soft. Add salt, ground paste and cook for few minutes. Heat the coconut oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves and stir fry a few times. Add the buttermilk mixture to this, along with the black pepper and fenugreek and serve.
