Pesarakattu Recipe
Indian Cooking Recipe: Pesarakattu
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Pesarakattu
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup yellow split dal(Pesara Pappu)
2. A pinch turmeric
3. 5 green chillies
4. 1 pinch ginger
5. 4 - 5 curry leaves
6. salt to taste
7. 1 lemon
8. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
9. 1/2 tsp jeera
10. hing(according to taste)
11. 1 tsp ghee or oil


Method of Preparation:
Clean the yellow split with water and add 2 cups of water and pressure cook it for 3 to 4 whistles. Clean green chillies and ginger and chop them in to small pieces. Remove whistle and mash the dal with a spoon. Add 1 cup of water to it. Now add chopped ginger, green chilles, haldi, salt and let it boil. Take a small vessel & add oil, when it is hot add mustard seeds. When mustards start crackling, add jeera, hing and curry leaves and add this to rasam and cook for 5 min. Lastly add lemon juice (don’t add lemon when rasam is too hot). Serve with white rice or you can drink as soup.
