Spinach Thovve Recipe
Indian Cooking Recipe: Spinach Thovve
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Spinach Thovve
Ingredients:
1. 1 cup toor dal
2. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3. 1 tsp oil
4. 2 cups spinach, chopped
5. 4-6 green chillies, sliced
6. 1 tbsp lemon juice
7. 1 long sprig curry leaves
8. 2 tsp oil
9. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
10. 1 tsp jeera
11. 1/2 tsp asafeotida
12. Salt to taste
13. 2 tsps oil
14. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
15. 1/2 tsp jeera
16. 1/2 tsp asafeotida


Method of Preparation:
Cook toor dal in a pressure cooker with water, turmeric, oil and keep aside. Put spinach, water into a pan and bring to the boil until the spinach is tender. Add salt, cooked dal, curry leaves and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, jeera, when it pops add green chillies, asafeotida and fry for 2 minutes. Stir into the thovve. Add lemon juice and mix well. Serve with rice or chapatis.
