Indian Cooking Recipe: Thovve
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Thovve
Ingredients:
1. 1 cucumber, peeled and cut into small pieces
2. 1 cup yellow moong dal
3. 2 tbsps grated coconut
4. 6-8 green chillies, chopped
5. 1 onions, chopped
6. 2 tomatoes, chopped
7. 1 tsp grated ginger
8. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
9. 1 long sprig curry leaves
10. 1 tsp lemon juice
11. 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
12. Salt to taste For Seasoning: 13. 2 tsps oil
14. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
15. 1/2 tsp jeera
16. 1/2 tsp asafetida


Method of Preparation:
Fry roast the moong dal until light brown. Wash and drain. Put moong dal, turmeric into a pan. Add water and bring to the boil until the moong dal is tender. (Not too cooked) Add cucumber, onions, tomatoes, green chilies, ginger and cook until soft. Add salt, coconut, curry leaves and simmer until the thovve thickens. Remove from the heat.
Add lemon juice, coriander leaves and mix well. Heat oil in a pan, add seasonings when it starts to split, stir into the thovve. Serve with rice or chapatis.
