Indian Cooking Recipe: Potato Curry
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Potato Curry
Ingredients:
1. 4 medium sized potatoes,
2. Tomatoes,
3. 4-5 green chilies,
4. Teaspoon turmeric powder,
5. A pinch of asafoetida,
6. Teaspoon cumin seeds or mustard seeds,
7. Salt and sugar to taste,
8. Black maharashtrian masala or garam masala,
9. Tbsp oil,
10. Coriander leaves,
Method of Preparation:
1. Boil potatoes and tomatoes. Chop potatoes into 1" dice. Chop tomatoes and green chilies. Keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida and turmeric powder. Add chopped tomatoes. Fry for some time.
4. Add potatoes and 1 cup water. Stir and bring it to a boil.
5. Remove the lid. Add masala, salt, and sugar and mix well.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati or rice.
VARIATION: Add chopped ginger and garlic for different taste.
