Indian Cooking Recipe: Badaam Halwa
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Badaam Halwa
Ingredients:
1. 500g Almonds, soaked overnight and peeled
2. 250g ghee (clarified butter)
3. 175ml milk
4. 1 small tin sweetened condensed milk
5. 2 tbsp slivered almonds, chopped pistachios, raisins for garnish
6. a few strands of saffron
7. edible silver paper (chandi wark) for garnish (optional)
Method of Preparation:
Blend almonds coarsely without any water.
Heat ghee in a wok. Add almonds and fry slowly on low heat till golden brown.
Dissolve the saffron in a little warm milk. Add the remaining milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook till milk reduces to half.
Add condensed milk, little by little till desired sweetness is reached. Add the saffron and cook for a few minutes.
Remove from heat and allow resting for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped nuts and silver paper. Serve hot.
