Indian Cooking Recipe: Parsi Patrel
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Parsi Patrel
Ingredients:
1. Small arvi leaves 30 nos.
2. Gram flour 1/2 cup
3. Wheat flour 1/2 cup
4. Whole rice flour 1/2 cup
5. For the masala
6. Red chilies 6 nos.
7. Green chilies 6 nos.
8. Ginger 1" piece
9. Garlic 1 pod.
10. Cumin seeds roasted 1 tsp.
11. Coriander seeds roasted 1 tsp.
12. Cloves 6 nos.
13. Cinnamon 1" piece
14. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
15. Bananas, mashed 2 nos.
16. Coriander leaves chopped 2 tbsp.
17. Tamarind water 1 cup
18. Jaggery 2 tbsp.
19. Oil 6 tbsp.
20. Salt As required
Method of Preparation:
1. Remove the central large stem from each of the leaves.
2. Mix all the ingredients together except the oil into a thick paste and add water if required.
3. Place a large leaf upside down and apply the mixture thinly on the leaf and place another leaf on top and again apply the mixture.
4. Continue this process for 4 or 5 leaves if they are large or else 8 or 10 leaves if they are small.
5. Tuck in the sides and roll as for a Swiss roll and tie up securely with a string.
6. Make more Patrel rolls in a similar way. After they are all ready heat oil in a pan, fry the Petrels on all sides, and then cover the pan with a lid.
7. Put water on the lid, not inside the pan, and cook on low flame turning occasionally for 45 minutes to 1 hour and cool.
8. Can be refrigerated for a week or so and eaten when desired.
9. When you want to eat these patrels, cut slices of the Patrel and shallow fry.
10. Serve with pieces of lemon
