Indian Cooking Recipe: Tittori
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Tittori
Ingredients:
1. Dried Vaal soaked for 3 days to sprout 300 gm.
2. Coconut 1
3. dried kopra ½
4. Parsi dhansakh masala 1½ tablespoon
5. Garam masala 1 tablespoon
6. chilli powder 1 tablespoon
7. turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
8. Large Onions 4
9. Large tomatoes 4
10. ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon
11. sugar 1 tablespoon
12. Oil
13. Salt to taste


Method of Preparation:
Wash the Vaal dal twice and set aside.
Grind the dry coconut finely with the help of half a cup of water. Grate the fresh coconut and with 2 cups hot water put it in a mixer to obtain thick coconut milk. Strain and set aside. Throw away the squeezed coconut.
Chop the onions and tomatoes finely. Place the onions and ginger-garlic paste in a wide mouthed dekchi. Cook in one small cup oil till soft and then add the finely ground dried kopra, spices, sugar, salt and the tomatoes. When the masala has cooked add the sprouted dal, coconut milk and 2 cups water and allow cooking till soft. The dal should remain intact and not disintegrate so do not stir, but shake the vessel from side to side. Add more water if needed and allow simmering till soft. Taste for salt and remove from heat.
