Indian Cooking Recipe: Jaisalmeri Chatpata Channa
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Jaisalmeri Chatpata Channa
Ingredients:
a. cup black gram (kala chana)
b. cup curd
c. tsp gram flour
d. tbsp salt
e. tsp coriander powder
2. 4 tsp mango powder
a. tsp red chili powder
3. 2 tsp turmeric powder
4. 2 tsp garam masala powder
a. tsp chat masala
5. 8 finely chopped chilies
6. 5-6 cloves
a. black cardamom
7. 2" cinnamon stick
8. 1/2 tsp asafetida powder
9. 2 tsp cumin seeds
a. tbsp oil
b. tbsp ghee or oil
10. Lots of fresh coriander leaves
11. 2 sliced onions for garnishing
Method of Preparation:
1. Soak black gram in 8 cups water overnight
2. In a pressure cooker, give 2 whistles along with the water in which it was soaked and then lowers heat and cook for 20-25 minutes
3. Heat oil and ghee. Add cumin seeds when brown; add cinnamon stick, clove, and black cardamom. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
4. Add asafetida powder and green chilies. Fry for 1 minute
5. Mix curd, 2 cup water, gram flour and all the dry spices
6. Add black gram along with the water in which it was boiled. Mix well.
7. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
