Indian Cooking Recipe: Panchemel Dal
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Panchemel Dal
Ingredients:
a. cup split green moong daal
2. 1/2 cup channa daal
3. 1/2 cup toovar daal
4. 1/2 cup masoor dhuli daal
5. 4 tbsp urad dhuli
a. tsp turmeric powder
6. Salt to taste
a. tsp red chili powder
7. 1/2 tsp asafetida powder
a. green chilies chopped
b. tsp cumin seeds
c. tsp ginger chopped
8. 1"cinamon stick
9. 5-6 curry leaves
10. 7-8 cloves
a. big cardamoms
b. bay leaves
11. 4-5 tbsp ghee
12. For garnishing - fresh chopped coriander
Method of Preparation:
1. Mix all the daals. Wash well, Add 10 cups water, salt, turmeric powder. Give 2 whistles in the cooker
2. Open the cooker and mix the daal well.
3. for seasoning heat ghee, add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamoms, cinnamon and bay leaves, green chilies and curry leaves, asafetida, red chili powder. Fry for a few seconds.
4. Add to the daal immediately. Care should be taken that the red chilies do not get burnt
5. Give 1-2 boils. Garnish fresh chopped coriander.
