Indian Cooking Recipe: Nutrela Sambhar
The following are the instructions on how to cook delicious Indian food: Nutrela Sambhar
Ingredients:
For Sambhar Powder:
1. 1 tbsp coriander seeds
2. 1 tbsp bengal gram dal
3. ½ tsp black peppercorn
4. 1 tsp garam masala
5. 1 tbsp oil
6. 2-3 red chillies
7. 1 tbsp black gram dal
8. 1 tbsp grated coconut
9. 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
For Sambhar soup:
1. ½ cup Nutrela
2. 1 small brinjal
3. ¼ cup shelled peas
4. ½ cup tamarind pulp
5. ½ tsp turmeric powder
6. 1 tsp chopped ginger
7. 2 cup red gram dal
8. 1 small piece pumpkin
9. 1 potato
10. Salt to taste
11. 2 chopped green chilies
12. A small piece chopped ginger
For seasoning:
1. 2 tsps oil
2. ¼ tsp jeera
3. A pinch asafeotida
4. A few curry leaves
5. ¼ tsp fenugreek
6. ¼ tsp mustard seeds
7. 1 chopped onion
Method of Preparation:
Heat oil. Fry all the ingredients (listed above for Sambhar powder) until light brown and grind. Cook dal with enough water till tender and pulpy. Boil diced vegetable and Nutrela in tamarind juice. Sauté well cooked dal, salt, turmeric powder and sambhar powder. Boil for 5 minutes. Fry mustard seed, jeera, fenugreek seed, asafeotida, curry leaves and onion, in hot oil. Season cooked dal mix with it. Add coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or idli.
